These beautiful insertions are versatile and work wonderfully with a variety of other laces. With their 1.5 inch widths, they make a statement for a relatively low price. However, let's be honest. Due to their heavy headers, they are a booger to work with.

To eliminate this problem, simply trim between the two header lines. The lace will not unravel and it leaves a strong header to attach to other laces. This technique does not work on all laces, but it is effective with these two insertions.
Below is a picture of completed heirloom yoke that implements this technique. (See center lace section). The zigzag line is neither heavy or bulky and it beautifully creates a uniform line with the other laces.
